The Rhumb Line~

I am wicked excited that the Monday night jam is back. If you happen to stop by you may get to hear the Bandit Kings, Inge Berge and who knows who may appear. During these jams you get some magical moments from musicians that are there to let loose with no planned agenda.

Thank you to Dan King for hosting this jam and to Fred Shrigley for making it possible.

Monday – 9:00 to 12:30 Open jam with The Bandit Kings

Tuesday – 9:00 to 12:30 ~ Henely Douglas and Soul Force ~V~

Wednesdays at the Rhumb Line -8:30-11:00 – Special Guests Chick and Ellen

He is a master.  A study in simplicity backed by sneaky-smart
technique.  She is a rare songbird with pure tone and perfect
rhythm.  Chick Marston & Ellen Ford revisit the Rhumb Line.

Thursday – 9:00 to 12:00 ~ Dave Sag’s Blues Party

Dave says,

We have the post Fat Tuesday post-partum blues this week as we welcome back Justin Quinn and his merry band of idiots to our stage. Justin is the meanest and heartiest practicioner of the Mississippi saxaphone (harmonica) that I’ve ever known. Every time his boys show up,  Fred needs an extra clean-up crew! We’ll be wailin’ thru the whole book of Chicago blues. He’s bringing along Mr. Jon Ross, vibrating gootarist to help us with our recovery. Mr. Andrew Jones will be filling those size14 drum duties. Of course, Mr. Greg T. and myself will be there, putting up the cracks.

And then there’s Saturday nite at the Annie. Yet another grueling evening cranking out swing and other sordid dance music with the Good Old Salty Jazz and Swing Band, featuring Mr. Henry Allen on vocals. We’ve done this a couple of times and we really had a ball, so you should get out and dance while your neuromotor system still works. Hours are 8 to 11. Admission is $

The Everlasting Literary Festival – 2nd & 4th Tuesdays every month, 7pm

Cape Ann Brewing ~

Sunday – 5:00pm ~ The Barbara and Al Boudreau Jazz Quartet

Chantey Night, an open Tuesday night sing featuring members of Three Sheets to the Wind, Knockabout, and other music groups from the North Shore and the Boston area, has moved from the now-closed Cameron’s to the Cape Ann Brewing Company. The singing begins at 8:30 every Tuesday night. For all the schooner heads this is quite a thing to see. If you have someone coming into town and want to hear and see something very different it can be pretty cool.

Be warned though- don’t go planning a meeting or meet-up where you think you’re going to be able to carry on a conversation while they are singing. Best to plan it for a different night at Cape Ann Brewing.
