Music Around Town ~ June 18-24, 2012

June 18, 2012 at 6:42 pm (Music)

Castle Manor Inn to host live music starting this Friday June 22  with Dave Sag’s and The Atomic Cocktail 7:00 pm to 10:00pm

http://www.castlemanorinn.com/

Dave says,

Friday, I’m proud to open up a new club in town! The Manor Inn on the causeway has opened under new management and I’m bringing’ in a posse to shake things up. They’ve a really nice room under a tent and the hours are early: 7 to 10! Now you old geezers have no reason to complain! We and they, need your support to make this a go. Just think: you can come before all the other clubs in town even get going! Then go out and get pixilated at your favorite kiddy bar later!
I’ll be on stage with Jon Ross, fabulous guitarist and vocalist, John Cameron, once again on keys, and Jeff Casper, the friendly drummer, sitting on his own stool. Let’s keep it alive!

Greasy Pole, The Musical! opens our 2012 Season at The Cape Ann “The Annie,” back by popular demand!
Bigger cast, two brand new songs, and some surprises you won’t want to miss!
Tickets are $20 for adults, $15 for seniors and students, and can now be purchased online at www.GreasyPoleTheMusical.com!
We still have ad space in our >>> PLAYBILL <<< for anyone interested in promoting your business or placing a message to the ensemble.
We sold out last year’s show to more than 2,000 people, so you will want to buy advance tickets to guarantee yourself a seat. Each ticket sold and playbill ad bought is a donation to The Cape Ann “The Annie” to help us keep bringing you original works that are by, for and about our own amazing, unique and diverse community. We are a 100% community-supported non-profit organization, which makes us very proud indeed. Thanks to You & GMG for all your support last year. Great things are coming in our new season, so be sure to join our mailing list at www.TheAnnie.org.

Bradley Royds has spent the last year recording and producing some of the North Shore’s finest musicians. Now he is switching gears! As the summer rolls out, Bradley will be releasing a steady stream of his own recordings, both old and new, and don’t miss him as he throws himself headlong in to the live music scene. Be there every Thursday for the month of  June at Giuseppe’s.

‘The Conservatory’ at The Cape Ann (“The Annie”) is a no-cost professional arts training program for Cape Ann youth, ages 13-21, bridging them to adult mentors who are working in the fields of theatre, dance, music, poetry, comedy, design and tech. ‘The UnAdulterated Cabaret’ is their debut performance project. It opens tonight and runs every Sunday night, year-round. You’ll be blown away!

Thursday – 9:00 to 12:00 ~ Dave Sag’s Blues Party

Dave says,

I’m really eggcited this week! I have a coupla good shows goin’ on, so let’s get movin’!
Firstly, this Thursday at the Rumblind sees the return of that mayhem inspiring mover of the hips: Mr. John Keegan©, the man who practically invented the hangover! Erstwhile leader of that rocking’ outfit known as Madhouse, Johnny K. is sure to raise your blood pressure to alarming new levels as he gargles his way thru the entire soul music catalog. He’ll be backed up by that palpitating pianist and general keyboard wizard; Mr. John Cameron. We’ll also be tapping our canes to the boogie beat with our own Irish Ace of Pace: Mr. Benny Benson on eggbeaters. Of course, Mr. Greg T. and myself  will be there, too, monitoring the Richter Scale. Wear helmets!

More news,

And Friday, I’m proud to open up a new club in town! The Manor Inn on the causeway has opened under new management and I’m bringing’ in a posse to shake things up. They’ve a really nice room under a tent and the hours are early: 7 to 10! Now you old geezers have no reason to complain! We and they, need your support to make this a go. Mondays – 6:00 to 8:00 ~ Chantey Night, an open Monday night sing featuring members of Three Sheets to the Wind, Knockabout, and other music groups from the North Shore and the Boston area, has moved from the Cape Ann Brewing Company to  the Dog Bar . The singing begins at 6:00 every Monday night. For all the schooner heads this is quite a thing to see. If you have someone coming into town and want to hear and see something very different it can be pretty cool.

Be warned though- don’t go planning a meeting or meet-up where you think you’re going to be able to carry on a conversation while they are singing. Best to plan it for a different night at Cape Ann Brewing.
