A HOLIDAY GUITAR CONCERT
courtesy photo
Fingerstyle guitarist Ken Bonfield has performed throughout the United States for more than 20 years. Based in Gloucester, Bonfield is a regular at guitar festivals, concert series, and acoustic venues across North America, and has released seven albums.
“Ken Bonfield’s instrumental guitar work patently avoids the incessant noodling… instead melody is king and Bonfield’s gifted fingers flesh out a beautiful cavalcade of notes that are at times reminiscent of a human voice singing and often soaring.” –Frank Rabey, Mountain Xpress
In his open-hearted, welcoming concerts, workshops and master classes, he shares new guitar dimensions and sonic explorations with his listeners. His compositions are performed with his unique “chamber ensemble” of handcrafted instruments ranging from baritone guitar to an 11-string harp guitar to a high-string guitar which Bonfield likens to a 6-string, Steel-String ukulele.
Join us for this all-ages holiday get-together, where Ken will be joined by fellow renowned guitarist Raymond Gonzalez performing holiday favorites and s00n-to-be-favorites in our comfortable and inviting living-room-style venue.

Well, just in time for the holiday seasoning, let’s get behind the one and only exploding Takata® airbag of the blues, Mr. Gordon “Sax” Beadle. With his projectile format and penchant for snake charming, this is the guy to take you into the Twilight Zone. Make you forget about that credit card bill due in January. He’s bringing along that nun-eating master of the qatar, Mr. Mike DiBari and the world’s foremost dribbler and fontman, Mr. Ed “Ed” Scheer to boot. Could be my ultimate agglomeration. I love working with these guys and I promise I’ll be better next year. Honest! Really, don’t miss this one! After This Thursday, We’ll be off until January 7, when the good Old Salty Jazz Band returns for some musical mayhem.
Speaking of which, The GOSJB will be circling the wagons next Monday at the Rose B. Senior Center once again. From 1 to 3, we’ll have you sucking with your upper plates to the groovy toons of yesteryear. come czech it out!

CHELSEA BERRY
Chelsea Berry is a singer/songwriter with incredible edge, power, and finesse. Her presence has been described by listeners as “compelling… she draws the entire house into her world like moths to a flame.” Born and raised in Alaska, she now makes her home on Boston’s North Shore. A favorite among venue owners up and down the East coast, Chelsea’s commanding stage presence and energetic rock/folk/pop sound has begun bringing her across the U.S. as regular support for Livingston Taylor as well as headliner of her own shows from California to Washington, Minneapolis, New York, and everywhere in between. Along with her solo shows, Chelsea frequently supports artists such as Chris Isaak, Jonathan Edwards, Jon Butcher, Chris Smither, Cheryl Wheeler, Marshall Crenshaw, Patty Larkin, and many others. Over her career, Berry has released four full length records (and one EP), including her most recent–2014’s acclaimed Remedy.
“A voice of remarkable power and control with a joyous soul. Brave and bright, Chelsea Berry is the real thing.” –Livingston Taylor
