ABOUT SHIR DAVID:
Shir David plays powerful, soulful music rooted in Jewish tradition infused with rhythms of Africa, the Middle East, and Latin America.

With the spiritual power of ancient prayer, singer/guitar player David Wesson adds a modern edge to traditional songs and delivers a dynamic set of sophisticated and moving original pieces.

Gloucester resident and classically trained violinist, Joe Kessler, of the renowned Klezmer group Klezwoods, adds the fervor and flavor of many cultures with his signature blue violin.

Jake Pardee of Rockport will be on bass holding down exquisite grooves, solid, deep, and in the pocket.

On percussion is Beverly resident, Shira Moss, bringing the rich and varied resonant tones of the congas to the mix.

Permanently Closed

Alchemy Gloucester

First and foremost, we want to say thank you to each and every person who has stepped foot in Alchemy over the past 12 years. It’s been an awesome, crazy run and you helped make it all possible.

We’re closing on Saturday. For real this time wink emoticon

The way people dine is evolving, and while we have lots of wonderful, loyal guests, Alchemy just isn’t a place most people can eat at multiple times a week, and that’s not our goal.

We want a space where families can dine out regularly with great food, drinks and a fun, casual vibe. So, we’re going to make that. We don’t know exactly how it will look or what the food will be, but we’re going to figure it out; and when we do, we’ll let you know.

CHELSEA BERRY

chelsea-berry-410

Chelsea Berry is a singer/songwriter with incredible edge, power, and finesse. Her presence has been described by listeners as “compelling… she draws the entire house into her world like moths to a flame.” Born and raised in Alaska, she now makes her home on Boston’s North Shore. A favorite among venue owners up and down the East coast, Chelsea’s commanding stage presence and energetic rock/folk/pop sound has begun bringing her across the U.S. as regular support for Livingston Taylor as well as headliner of her own shows from California to Washington, Minneapolis, New York, and everywhere in between. Along with her solo shows, Chelsea frequently supports artists such as Chris Isaak, Jonathan Edwards, Jon Butcher, Chris Smither, Cheryl Wheeler, Marshall Crenshaw, Patty Larkin, and many others. Over her career, Berry has released four full length records (and one EP), including her most recent–2014’s acclaimed Remedy.

“A voice of remarkable power and control with a joyous soul. Brave and bright, Chelsea Berry is the real thing.” –Livingston Taylor
