Band rolls back to Lat 43 for April Fools Day, and there are gonna be some fools on stage,, Honorable Back Stabbers… Uncle Timmy Pike will be on hand with some Shenanigans!!! Cliffy The French Octopus Of The Organ will be there too on the B3, (Uncle Sag gets all credits for Octopus of The Organ) Irish Hooligan Steve Monahan will be Bassin’ it up,, And Frosty Padgett The Clock will me watching the time on his Drum, and his wrist watch to see if the song is ever going to end. Please join us for this Foolish Event,, we start at 9 and hope to see some foolish people. Chantey Night, an open Tuesday night sing featuring members of Three Sheets to the Wind, Knockabout, and other music groups from the North Shore and the Boston area, has moved from the now-closed Cameron’s to the Cape Ann Brewing Company.   The singing begins at 8:30 every Tuesday night.
For all the schooner heads this is quite a thing to see.  If you have someone coming into town and want to hear and see something very different it can be pretty cool.

Be warned though- don’t go planning a meeting or meet-up where you think you’re going to be able to carry on a conversation while they are singing.  Best to plan it for a different night at Cape Ann Brewing.

The Honky Tonk Women of Gloucester will revisit the “golden oldies” era singing the songs of the Shirelles, the Ronettes, the Crystals, the Everly Brothers, the Angels, the Cookies, Brenda Lee, Doris Day, Patsy Cline, Connie Francis, the McGuire Sisters,  Patti Page, the MaMa’s & The PaPa’s, the Fleetwoods and more.

Everyone takes at turn at singing the lead, the back-up and the harmony vocals.  Sheila Schrank is the fingerstyle guitarist and arranger for the group.  Elaine “Patsy Cline” Persons  also stylizes the late Roy Orbison’s works. Barbara Jansson  plays the harmonica on several songs and  Caroline Haines also sings with the popular acappella group, Leven.   Each vocalist crafts their song with harmony and movement to guide you through a  “sentimental journey” in remembering when…..

There is  plenty of seating and every seat is a “good one” with a clear, unobstructed view.  Doors open just before  7:00 pm.  Seating will be on a “first come” basis, however, reservations can be made by contacting 978-281-3451 (days) or 978-337-2568 (eve.)  and by e-mail at dancerecp1@yahoo.com or sheilannjones@hotmail.com.  $12 for adults/$5 for children 11 and under. Garfish will be performing classic rock-n-roll from the 1960’s, 70’s  and 80’s along with some current hits that will surely get the crowd to its feet and onto the dance floor. The band performs their own renditions of songs from the likes of: Elton John, Jethro Tull, The Beatles, Gordon Lightfoot, Styx, Lionel Richie, Dropkick Murphys, Moody Blues, Joe Cocker, Billy Joel an others.

The band consists of Kevin Lopes on lead vocals, along with fellow musicians: Walter Piscitello on drums & vox, Doug Comeau on guitar & vox, Gary “Gar” Hiltz on bass & vox and Jeff Worthley on piano, saxophone, guitar & vox.

Jake Pardee and the Bingo Fridays Band will be back in Gloucester to play at the Rhumbline this Friday night Mar 11th. Founded by Jake Pardee of Rockport while still at Ipswich High School, Bingo Fridays features Jake on lead guitar, Pete Iannitto on bass and Aaron Zaroulis on drums. Based out of Boston, Bingo Fridays blends original sounds of rock, blues, reggae and funk and tours throughout the Northeast with a busy up-coming summer schedule performing at clubs and music festivals. Docksiders and alumni from past 10 years.The 10th Anniversary Concert is a fundraiser for The Docksiders’ upcoming trip to
Disneyland in Paris. The trip is costing the group $60,000.00. The funds for the trip
are being raised through private donations. BankGloucester is sponsoring the
Anniversary Concert. A ticket is required for admission. All tickets are FREE and
only available at BankGloucester while supplies last. (Tickets are only limited by the
capacity of the venue).
The Docksiders, Gloucester High School’s multi-talented Stage Band, was established
in 2001. The 26 band members are selected for membership from individual auditions
and are under the direction of Dave Adams, music teacher. Musical emphasis for The
Docksiders is recreating the “big band” sound, with their repertoire encompassing
everything from rock and roll to swing music of such notable greats as Glenn Miller
and Benny Goodman. Students in the program learn about different arrangements
and styles of music performed by big bands, while offering performances for North
Shore Schools, community organizations and various special celebrations.
While in Paris The Docksiders will have the opportunity to perform at several venues.
