Thursday 8:30 – 11:30 ~ Dave Sag’s Blues Party with Steve Sadler and Jim Scoppa
Dave says,
It’s shootout at the Ofay Corral this week as we pit the commodious Mr. Steve Sadler against the lowball slider, Mr. Jim Scoppa. Both massive guitarists who’ve paid their dues with the likes of guys like Tom Hambridge and and Michael Coombs, we’re sure to see phlogiston exuding from every pore. Steve, with his artery-clogging style is a local favorite and everybody’s first call for fiddle, mandolin and lapp steel, but tonite it’s full bore with the electrical glitar. Jim, the gas giant,is big on the Eric Clapton school of channeling dead blues echoes. Our tail gunner is none other than that happy-go-lucky steam engine: Mr. Forrest “Frosty” Padgett, one of my favorite defibrillators. National Grid will be standing by with bucket trucks and spare 6L6GC tubes, ready for the blown fuse. I’ve actually been forced to learn some new songs.
And, don’t forget: we’re nothing without you, the viewer. Live music is best! Hours still 8:30 to 11:30.
Here’s some future info:
Oct. 10 Dennis Brennan with Matt Stubbs and Chris Rivelli. See God…
Oct.17 Cheryl Arena, the Chernobyl of Boston with Mike DiBari and Ephraim Lowell
Oct.24 Brian Templeton. New to our revue. Harp and vocals courtesy of Billy Loosigian and Forrest Padgett.
Oct. 31 Big Halloweenie party with John Keegan® and a cast of thousands. If I wasn’t playing, you’d be at my wake….Wear costumes or go naked.or both…
And don’t forget, all you online poker players and Jell-O aficionados are welcome to join Mark Earley and me for another rousing session with the Good Old Salty Jazz Band at the Rose Baker Senior Center next Monday.I’m bringing smelling salts and and my medical I.D. Tag. Line dance to your favorite country hits from 1920!

This being said, please only invite people that you really know who will be fun and respectful of Cynthia & Pete’s property. Examples of people not to invite: the guy who likes to play with fire, the girl who thinks this is a karaoke party, the guy who wants to start a keg stand tournament…. You get the picture. See you in a few days!

Thursday 8:30 – 11:30 ~ Dave Sag’s Blues Party with Chris Stoval Brown
Dave Says,
Let’s welcome back doctor recommended Chris “Stovall” Brown. This string biting blizzard of blues is comin’ at ya with a bucket of ribald classics and glistening lyrics. Mostly the Emperor of the boston scene, he’s been around the world and back again and again, causing me great dizziness and lack of spanklydosis.
But seriously, folks, CB is the monster lurking in your darkest hours, ready to spring out and turn your nites into days. He sings, he plays, sometimes with his teeth. Sometimes with my teeth. They’re not rented. There will be joy all around.
Actually, we like to call ourselphes Sag, Crag and Chag. Or is it Chag, Crag and Sag? No bags at Spag’s! Somebody help me! I’m lost! Of course I mean that substitute bowling ball of a drummmbler, Mr. Steeevie Chaggaris. Formerly of Valhalla, his spaceship is making a detour and dropping him off just for us. We’re gonna tear the place apart! Do come!
And thank you once again for your continued support. Live music is best!
Don’t forget, I’ve got a Facebook page, now, against my better judgement. Send some pix or a rip-snorting comment. I’m an idiot with this stuff! https://www.facebook.com/pages/Davesags-blues-party/1413082458915228

SAVOY BROWN- UNPLUGGED
featuring KIM SIMMONDS
Legendary…a blues/rock institution…true innovators. These are just a few of the ways Savoy Brown has been described over the past 40 years by music critics and fans. One of the earliest of British blues bands, Savoy Brown, with founder guitarist Kim Simmonds at the helm, helped launch the 1967 UK blues boom movement that brought blues music back to the USA invigorating the style forever. In the process, the band became part of the framework that launched the rock and roll music of the 1970’s. Their influence now stretches into modern rock as we know it today. From London’s Soho night clubs in 1966 to headlining the world’s most famous venues (Carnegie Hall, Fillmore’s East, and West, Cobo Hall, etc.), Savoy Brown has done it all and as the band continues to tour worldwide they give a glimpse into the past and also inspire new listeners with their personal brand of rocking boogie, blues, and rock.
The band will play a special ‘bare essentials’ unplugged show, tailored for the intimate setting of the Shalin Liu Performance Center. For any Savoy Brown fan, this is a unique opportunity to see a one of a kind show with special material!
