Kingsley Flood So as you may know, the Boston Phoenix done did it: they nominated a band standing in a dumpster for Best Roots act. As Prince Hakeem said in Coming to America, “when you think of garbage, think of Hakeem!” Well, we say “when you think of dumpsters, vote for us!” You can do it once a day until May 7. Ok, I am spreading the word. I now own Kingsley Flood’s new CD “Dust Windows”. It is to me a masterpiece. Fiddle, bass, electric, acoustic, trumpet, drums and vocals. The sound quality is excellent and getting to hear them Friday night and to have the songs they sang on it, is great. I already know most of the words to… a few songs. This is one that I can play over and over again and not get tired of it, cause I already did. The buzz going around is, this is my new favorite band. I can certainly see why. Sample their music and see for yourself. I could hear Guthrie, Dylan, Santana and The Beatles. Check out there music if you like them you can vote for them on their blog page. Full of life, energy and creativity. This is the kind of entertainment that gets one revved up and ready to dance. They are awesome!

Well, chippies, This week we have a shock for you: Mike O’Connell is going to jump out of a cake. He promised! Unfortunately, nobody will claim a birthday: no-one wants to see it. Anyhow, our very own Mikey O. will be bringing his gootar and a coupla bear traps, to show us how it’s done. Also, that great soulful voice, smooth as baby’s feet. He’s just about healed from last week’s tweezer malfunction, so we expect great things.
Pushing him over the top will be Mr. Greg Dann, Rockport’s answer to Ginger Baker, on stix and skins. Greg T. and I will be a hootin’ and a hollerin’ in the back, going along to get along. Big fun, do come!

A busy one! So let’s get started.
This thursday at the Rumline we’re proud to present the sophmore visit of Evan Goodreau, vogalist, glitarist and self-styled mildew expert. A great frontman and backdoorman, let him soothe you with his croon salivation. An ambulance will be standing by for those who succumb to the vapors.
Forrest”Tucker” Paggett will be behind us all propulsonating the skin-flaying. And, of course, Greg T. and I will be there, too. Czech it out. 9 to midnite.
Friday, there’s some kind of benefit for the firefighters at the Elks Club. I’m supposed to show up and play, but nobody ever calls. Maybe I should set my house on fire, find out for sure. Mikey O. and a whole rasher of baconators are supposed to show up, too. Let’s find out.
And, Sunday, I’ll be at Glenn’s Coool Bar and Restaurant in Nbpt. playing with Justin Quinn and his band of macho cabrones. From 6 to 9. Reservations suggested. Glenn’s Joint is the best restaurant around, and you only need 45 minutes to weave your way home. Band’s pretty good, too. Don’t drive thru Rowley.
