Thursday – 9:00 to 12:00 ~ Dave Sag’s Blues Party

Dave says,

Well, we’ve got repeat offenders this Thursday at the Rhumba Line, so let’s welcome back  that notorious nabob of the saxophone: Mr. Marque Earley. He’s been busy scrounging $50 gigs everywhere, so I’m more than happy to help him out. This cat is so fear-inspiring that everybody but me is afraid of him and his metamucilical stylings. So, I’m bringing in the heavy guns in the form of Mr. Pall Foss, old college chum and recipient of the Bob Mobilio Award for excellence in the field of musical theory. He’s  driving down from Bangor, Maine. I hope he can find the place. If he mows down a deer on the way down, we won’t go hungry. We’re gonna play the new stuff. Paul’s a quick-draw pianist and polka wizard, known far and wide for his ability to laugh at anything, anywhere, anytime. You need this.
Following the proceeding will be one of my favorite drumbalists: Mr. Forrest “Gump” Padgett, king of the wild frontier. Solid as a rock, and twice as heavy. Of course, Mr. Greg T. and myself complete the roundup. Come early for free polka lessons. Kielbasa tasting party starts at 9 P.M. Who loves ya, baby!

Mondays – 6:00 to 8:00 ~ Chantey Night, an open Monday night sing featuring members of Three Sheets to the Wind, Knockabout, and other music groups from the North Shore and the Boston area, has moved from the Cape Ann Brewing Company to  the Dog Bar . The singing begins at 6:00 every Monday night. For all the schooner heads this is quite a thing to see. If you have someone coming into town and want to hear and see something very different it can be pretty cool.

Be warned though- don’t go planning a meeting or meet-up where you think you’re going to be able to carry on a conversation while they are singing. Best to plan it for a different night at Cape Ann Brewing.

This is so exciting….I met Kingsley Flood a couple of years ago or more at a Monday night open jam and fell in love with them. You can catch George Hall a psychedelic to the moon guitar at the jam most Monday nights. He is a treat to hear as always.

Dave says,

It’s Ragnarock ‘n’ Roll time this week as we welcome back the happiest guy I know: Mr. Orville Giddings.  Guffawing glitarist, landscraper and talented songwriter/ singer, this guy always brightens up my day. His 1000 watt smile always makes me wish I was wearing welding goggles! It’s always an honor to have him play with us. Hope I can remember his songs!
He’ll be backed up by another fine giggler, Mr. Steve Chaggaris on the skins. He’s the Kojak of the kit. Who loves ya, baby? Always muttering and tee-heeing profusely. Of course, Mr. Greg T. with his flower pot hat and myself on base will be there, too, just in case. A fine night for anything remotely connected with the itmosphere! See you there!

This is so exciting….I met Kingsley Flood a couple of years ago or more at a Monday night open jam and fell in love with them. You can catch George Hall a psychedelic to the moon guitar at the jam most Monday nights. He is a treat to hear as always.

Boston based rockers Kingsley Flood are “Having Words With Meg” on national Sirius XM Radio.

With an upcoming Gloucester gig June 2 gig at The Madfish on Rocky Neck and their recent 2nd release “Colder Still”,  these upstarts revvv things up with their own gumbo of Punk Americana..and everything from the Sax to the Fiddle to the Coffee Can are part of the sound.  Band member George Hall hails from Gloucester…And they’ll throw in a Tom Waits cover for good measure.

Thursday – 9:00 to 12:00 ~ Dave Sag’s Blues Party

Dave says,

The Vernon Dent Foundation is proud to present  that capacious yet lovable yeti of the blues: Mr. Mike O’Connell. It’s his very own show at the Rhumb Line this week. Chef, glitarist, and Vasorect® spokesmodel, he’s got a voice smooth as baby’s feet. He mows lawns, too. Mikey’s been brewing a lot of tea lately, as the chief mogul of  the Teahouse of the something or other in Snakepit, Ma. Food’s really good, especially the kapusta fondue. Bring a date and dine by the whites of her eyes!
We’ll be tapping our bunions along with that first-rate drumambulist Mr. Forrest “Frosty” Padgett, the Ace of Pace. Haven’t seen him in a while since he hurt himself in that horrible kick drum accident, But I guess he’s doing well. Of course, Mr. Greg T. with his catarrh will be there as well as myself in the bassment, trying to hold things up. A swell night for aural sex!
