I am wicked excited about the Monday night jam. If you happen to stop by you may get to hear the Bandit Kings, Inge Berge and who knows who may appear. During these jams you get some magical moments from musicians that are there to let loose with no planned agenda.

Thank you to Dan King for hosting this jam and to Fred Shrigley for making it possible.

Monday – 9:00 to 12:30 Open jam with The Bandit Kings

Tuesday – 9:00 to 12:30 ~ Henely Douglas and Soul Force ~V~

Wednesdays with Fly 8:30 to 11:00 ~

August 8: Chick Marston

Looking forward…
…to seeing you there!  🙂 ~ Fly

Thursday – 9:00 to 12:00 ~ Dave Sag’s Blues Party

Dave says,

Well, kids, it’s about that time again. The mad rush of summer visitors at my house has got me in a tizzy and despite visits by the FBI and DEA, the madness continues with the arrival of Mr. John Rankin from New Orleans. He’ll be arriving soon with his muddy boots and resonator guitar to assail you with the entire catalogue of N.O.roots music. Educator, emulator, excavator, this guy does it all. And sings, too.
John has been so busy, what with performances, guitar workshops and teaching, that I’m so glad the New Orleans cops have let him have the opportunity to flee the state and come up here for some much needed community service. I promised to send him back on time.Put up my home as collateral, too.
On drums ,we’ll be sporting Mr. Andrew Jones, who’s been furiously trying to learn the N.O. style of sloppy groove, and with all of us drooling, it’s gonna be a mess. Bring paper towels!
And don’t forget: Monday afternoon from 1 to 3 the Good Old Salty Jazz Band hits the dirt at the Rose Baker Senior Center. It’s free, for all of you who are economically challenged. Mr. Rankin will be playing with us, too. You don’t know what you’re missing. It’s better than “Cats”.

The singing begins at 6:00 every Monday night. For all the schooner heads this is quite a thing to see. If you have someone coming into town and want to hear and see something very different it can be pretty cool.

Be warned though- don’t go planning a meeting or meet-up where you think you’re going to be able to carry on a conversation while they are singing. Best to plan it for a different night at the Dog Bar.

Thursday – 9:00 to 12:00 ~ Dave Sag’s Blues Party

Dave Says,

It’s that time again! We’re gathering all the troops to pay obeisance to the king of the Boston blues Scene: Mr. Ricky “King” Russell. Approved by Pope John Paul Ringo! Everytime he plays here we gotta call in a hazmat team! I’m oiling down my bass in preparation for the great sleazy, cheesy, wheezy effluvium that’s gonna emanate from the throbbing stage. Master of the gritar, this guy will chase you back under your own personal rock where it won’t be safe to come out for weeks! You’ll see!
Unfortunately , his doppleganger on drums, Mr. Ed Scheer, is  down with a bad case of St. Vitus dance, and coupled with unsuccessful cosmetic weenis surgery, won’t be able to hit a stick for several weeks. So a surprise drummer is in the pipeline, trying desperately to get out! Fortunately Mr. Greg T. and myself will be there, litter in tow, to assist in medical emergencies. The bombing will start in 5 minutes….

Mondays – 6:00 to 8:00 ~ Chantey Night, an open Monday night sing featuring members of Three Sheets to the Wind, Knockabout, and other music groups from the North Shore and the Boston area, has moved from the Cape Ann Brewing Company to the Dog Bar .

Dave says,

This week we feature slugger and home rum king, Mr. Evan Goodreau, our wily purveyor of groovy times and caustic guitarrberations. A busy guy, we’re glad to have him back. Always a vibrational experience. He always  raises the stakes, then pounds them back into your heart!  Lots of energy!
To keep the blood coursing will be our Irish Ace of Pace, Mr. Benny Benson with his muscle-bound  ticking of the clock. Of course, Mr. Greg T.and myself will be standing by to cover any eventualities. Eat your wheaties!
