Help out while having fun. In light of this weeks terrible fire in Magnolia, Just Like Newman would like to ask friends to come to the Halloween party this Friday night with a couple of extra dollars or perhaps a gift card to Marshalls, Market Basket, CVS or another local business that we can donate to the victims of the fire. We’ll put out a bucket to collect everything and 100% will go directly to the victims… Don’t forget to wear your costume!

THURSDAY 8:30 – 11:30 ~ DAVE SAG’S BLUES PARTY WITH SPECIAL GUEST: Justin Quinn
Golly; a lot of harp players lately. Yet, I’ve saved the best for last, at least for this month. Let’s welcome back Justin Quinn and his rolling roadblock for an evening of pedal-to-the-mettle fuel-injected blues. The long time host of Glenn’s Cool Bar blues sessions in Nbpt. is hitchhiking down here to give you a whiff of the real deal blueswise, and it’s going to be terrific, or,at least, terrifying. I love playing with this guy!
He’s bringing along Mr. Jon Ross, guitarist xtroidinaire, to mold the clay, and the ever so tonsorially-challenged drummbler, Mr. Steevee Chaggaris, to beat you to a pulp. It’s pre-Halloween, so nobody will notice if you dress funny. Not that they ever do. Bring a date and dance to the whites of her eyes!

THURSDAY 8:30 – 11:30 ~ DAVE SAG’S BLUES PARTY WITH SPECIAL GUEST: Brian David Templeton. William Loosigian & Dave Mattacks
It’s He-Man Week™ as I drag in the limb-crunching behemoth of the blues: Mr. Brian Templeton. Last time he was here, severe shock and awe erupted on the dance floor and mere mortals (not you) quivered with trepidation at what might happen to their booty whilst under his spell. He’s a really big guy, physically and tonally. Makes me look like Barney Fife. He’s really a great frontman, singer and harpist, and a joy to work with. He’s bringing along Mr. Billy Loosigian, rocket-propelled guitarist and veteran of many an ear-exploding night on this same stage. He’ll be the one in the red cape. Range-finding co-ordinates supplied by the atomic clock, Mr. Dave Mattacks. I’ll be on base. hours: 8:30 till11:30, and, no, we’re not changing them anymore for the winter.

This week let’s welcome back the Kielbasa King of Woosta: Mr. Mike O’Connell. We’re gonna have some fun, Bwana, channelling the 3 Stooges and playing our arses off to please you, the viewer. Mike is bringing in the cavalry in the form of Mr.George McCann, Chuck’s brother, and the mainstay in James Montgomery’s band, to whoop it up on guitar. Mr. Forrest “Frosty” Padgett will be sweating profusely trying to get here on time to keep time, on the drums, that is. And I’ll be there, too!
After the last time we played here, the walls needed repainting and the bathroom fixtures had to be replaced. We recommend you bring your Insurance cards, and a white flag, just in case. Mikey’s the real deal!

Gordon Bok learned many tunes, sea songs, stories, legends and ballads growing up in Camden, Maine. Where he couldn’t find songs that matched his experiences or needs, he wrote his own, and he has kept up a lively flow of poems, songs, stories, choral and instrumental works. He has performed extensively in the United States, and in the United Kingdom, Australia, and New Zealand and has appeared on the radio show “A Prairie Home Companion” with Garrison Keillor. Daisy Nell & Capt. Stan will open.

8:00 pm ATWATER & DONNELLY
with Kevin Doyle
Award-winning, internationally acclaimed performers, Aubrey Atwater and Elwood Donnelly present captivating programs of traditional American and Celtic folk songs and percussive dance. Elwood and Aubrey blend gorgeous harmonies and play an astonishing array of instruments including guitar, Appalachian mountain dulcimer, mandolin, tin whistle, harmonica, banjo, limberjacks, and other surprises including a thrilling interpretation of freestyle Appalachian clog dancing. Married since 1989, Aubrey and Elwood have performed widely in the United States and abroad and their twelve recordings receive international airplay. Joining Aubrey and Elwood is Kevin Doyle, a delightful, compelling performer of old style traditional Irish step dance and American tap dance as well as percussion and vocals. A lifelong dancer, Kevin was a U.S. Champion Irish step dancer in his early competitive years, and has been entertaining audiences ever since with his traditional style of “close to the ground” rhythms and intricate foot work. Their performance is appealing to all ages, and with humor, audience participation, and a relaxed stage presence, Aubrey, Elwood, and Kevin explain song origins to give more relevance to the material. From haunting melodies to lively jigs you will be delighted by tonights performance.
