What Time Is It, Mr. Fox?
January 30th
7:00 pm – 9:30 pm
$10.00 – $15.00
What Time Is It, Mr. Fox? Saturday, Jan 30, Doors at 7 PM, Concert at 7:30PM
Tickets: $15 non-members/ $10 RNAC members, purchase below!
Named after a Victorian children’s game, What Time Is It, Mr. Fox? can time-travel from the woods of Medieval France to a 1930s New Orleans jukejoint. Led by the gender-defying voice of 3rian King, the ensemble delivers their own brand smoky cabaret, neo-soul and acoustic noir, sounding something like Tom Waits and Amy Winehouse performing in a French cafe.
The soul of the band is rooted in its songs – poetic, inventive, emotionally naked meditations on love, religion, sexuality, and identity in the tradition of songwriters like Leonard Cohen, Nina Simone, and Laura Nyro. The band also loves to reimagine classics from Johnny Cash, Prince, and Joni Mitchell to Irish folk tunes and Appalachian murder ballads.
With Nathan Cohen’s cinematic violin & haunting trumpet, Joe Cardoza’s upright bass, Dennis Monagle’s artful drums, Renee Dupuis warm keys and stellar voice, What Time Is It, Mr. Fox? sells out legendary clubs from Club Passim & Oberon in Cambridge, MA to The Duplex in NYC, recently earning the Critic’s Pick in Time Out New York.
Their original song “Cold Rain” was recently covered by New Orleans Soul Queen, Irma Thomas, on her Grammy-nominated CD “Simply Grand,” with the track earning high praise in Rolling Stone, USA Today & The VIllage Voice.
The latest album by What Time Is It, Mr. Fox?, “Little Bit Of Blue” was recently launched with two sold-out CD-release parties in Boston & NYC, with the songs accompanied by circus performers, dancers, and animation by award-winning filmmaker, Ruth Lingford.

The way people dine is evolving, and while we have lots of wonderful, loyal guests, Alchemy just isn’t a place most people can eat at multiple times a week, and that’s not our goal.
We want a space where families can dine out regularly with great food, drinks and a fun, casual vibe. So, we’re going to make that. We don’t know exactly how it will look or what the food will be, but we’re going to figure it out; and when we do, we’ll let you know.

CHELSEA BERRY
Chelsea Berry is a singer/songwriter with incredible edge, power, and finesse. Her presence has been described by listeners as “compelling… she draws the entire house into her world like moths to a flame.” Born and raised in Alaska, she now makes her home on Boston’s North Shore. A favorite among venue owners up and down the East coast, Chelsea’s commanding stage presence and energetic rock/folk/pop sound has begun bringing her across the U.S. as regular support for Livingston Taylor as well as headliner of her own shows from California to Washington, Minneapolis, New York, and everywhere in between. Along with her solo shows, Chelsea frequently supports artists such as Chris Isaak, Jonathan Edwards, Jon Butcher, Chris Smither, Cheryl Wheeler, Marshall Crenshaw, Patty Larkin, and many others. Over her career, Berry has released four full length records (and one EP), including her most recent–2014’s acclaimed Remedy.

If “Americana” has come to mean music that resides in the interstices between country, folk, blues, and other genres without belonging to any of them, then Bromberg was Americana eons before the term came into vogue, and no more so than when he was playing with his quintet.
Bromberg is one of the most engaging, indeed mesmerizing, of performers. It’ll be a treat to hear him and his quintet perform their mix of bluegrass, country, R&B, and blues that’s united by Bromberg’s soulful picking and gravelly vocals.

Rest In Peace ~David Bowie
Ziggy Stardust
Oh
Oh, yeah
Ziggy played guitar
Jamming good with Weird and Gilly
And the Spiders from Mars
He played it left hand
But made it too far
Became the special man
Then we were Ziggy’s band
Ziggy really sang
Screwed-up eyes and screwed-down hairdo
Like some cat from Japan
He could lick ’em by smiling
He could leave ’em to hang
They came on so loaded, man
Well-hung and snow-white tan
So where were the spiders
While the fly tried to break our balls?
Just the beer light to guide us
So we bitched about his fans
And should we crush his sweet hands?
Oh
Ziggy played for time
Jiving us that we were voodoo
The kids were just crass
He was the nazz
With God-given ass
He took it all too far
But, boy, could he play guitar
Making love with his ego
Ziggy sucked up into his mind, ah
Like a leper messiah
When the kids had killed the man
I had to break up the band
Oh, yeah
Ooh
Ziggy played guitar

“A voice of remarkable power and control with a joyous soul. Brave and bright, Chelsea Berry is the real thing.” –Livingston Taylor
