This next Primal Roots is about Crystallization. It’s about what happens when our dreams and visions become clear to us. We are thrilled to have guest artist and musician Derek Hoffend, who is bringing his Analog Synthesizer for this event. Derek is a professor of interactive media who teaches sound creation. He is also the creator of the luminous crystal floor and wall sculptures that will be part of the evenings festivities. These sculptures produce patterns of sound and light which together with the synthesizer will rock your socks off and drop you into deep waters. Jon & Lisa with other musical guests will join in to create a musical tapestry and at the end of the evening there will be an extended Savasana meditation (Yoga Nidra) with Courtney Rose. She is once again joining us to help design and facilitate the event. 15$ in advance 20$ at the door.

7 guys. Multiple ways of making music using only their voices. What they do is far more than a cappella. They are a band without a band.
Having met in school and gospel choir they quickly discovered that they were doing more than just singing songs, they all discovered perfect hypervocal capabilities. That’s why Naturally 7 call their music “vocal play.” Every band member has his preferred style, or favorite songs and together they can interpret them all. Naturally 7 summon up soul, rap, rock and folk in one harmonious balance.
“Naturally 7 croons like a choir of angels, but they can also simulate a full orchestra or a pop-rock band…using just their voices.”
Nowadays they have famous fans such as Michael Bublé (whom they joined on 3 world tours), Coldpay (“Fix You” is one of the finest adaptions of music you can imagine), Quincy Jones (who called them “best a cappella band worldwide”), Herbie Hancock (listen to their H. Hancock medley) and many others.
Their repertoire is a mix of their own compositions and cover versions.
This year they are celebrating their 20th anniversary which will be accompanied by new releases and remixes of famous hits (such as “Wall of Sound”). They happily participated in CBS’ new TV format World’s Best which will air from February to April 2019. And of course: they tour around the world!

CONCERT WINDS OF CAPE ANN PLAY BENEFIT IN ANNISQUAM
Concert Winds of Cape Ann perform “Music for a Summer Evening” to kick off the 2019 Concert Season for the Annisquam Village Church, Saturday, July 20 at 7:30 p.m.
Seasoned players with a penchant for light-hearted chamber music –Jean Antrim, Flute; David Benjamin, Clarinet; and Priscilla Walter, Piano — perform the Danzi trio “Sinfonia Concertante.” Also on the program are duos and solos of Brahms, Delibes, Noda, and even Leroy Anderson. Special youth guest artist Sophia Hogan-Lopez joins the trio in Anderson’s “Penny Whistle Song.”
The concert is a benefit for the newly refurbished Village Church at the head of Lobster Cove. Widely known for its beauty and resonant acoustics, this historic building is an ideal venue for chamber music and has attracted many world-class musicians to perform.
A reception in the Cove Room, which has also undergone renovations, follows the concert.
Admission is $20. / $15. Seniors and Students.
