Festina, the professional choir in residence at St. John’s Episcopal Church, will sing a Choral Evensong in celebration of the Feast of St. David, the patron of Wales on Saturday, February 29 at 5 pm. The choir will feature works from the 16th to 20th centuries by some of Britain’s greatest composers who are Welsh-born or greatly influenced the musical life of Wales.

The $1,000 Singer-Songwriter Challenge returns to Machaca Gloucester for an 8-week run this winter starting on January 15, 2020. For 7 weeks, up to 8 performers play up to 3 songs or 15 minutes before a panel of live judges. At the end of the first 7 weeks, one performer is chosen to move on to the week 8 finals and a chance to perform in the finals for a piece of the $1,000 prize. Interested in performing? The $1,000 Singer-Songwriter Challenge
The $1,000 Singer-Songwriter Challenge returns to Machaca Gloucester for an 8-week run this winter starting on January 15, 2020. For 7 weeks, up to 8 performers play up to 3 songs or 15 minutes before a panel of live judges. At the end of the first 7 weeks, one performer is chosen to move on to the week 8 finals and a chance to perform in the finals for a piece of the $1,000 prize. Interested in performing? Part of Education & Outreach programDirector of the Rockport Jazz Workshop, Alexa Tarantino is an award-winning, vibrant, young jazz saxophonist, woodwind doubler, composer, and educator. Tarantino performs regularly as a leader and sidewoman in a wide variety of ensembles and genres including Wynton Marsalis & the Jazz at Lincoln Center Orchestra, Cécile McLorin Salvant’s OGRESSE, among many more. Currently on faculty for the Jazz at Lincoln Center’s Youth Programs, she holds adegrees from The Juilliard School and Eastman School of Music. Free, no tickets required.

Festina, the professional choir in residence at St. John’s Episcopal Church, will sing a Choral Evensong in celebration of the Feast of St. David, the patron of Wales on Saturday, February 29 at 5 pm. The choir will feature works from the 16th to 20th centuries by some of Britain’s greatest composers who are Welsh-born or greatly influenced the musical life of Wales.
