Dearest Darling,
Just a quick note to say how sorry I am for not being able to meet with you at our favorite motel this Thursday, due to the fact that I have to meet with Mr. Evan Goodrow for a musical tryst at the Rhumb Line. We’re sending 2016 away with surgical precision and a big bang. Mr. G promises to keep you fully informed and itchy to dance. Our buddy Mr. David Moore provides comic relief and drumming. gotta get in shape for Saturday night!
Love,

THE MUSIC
Friday – 9pm ~Julie Rhodes Band
The first time I saw Julie Rhodes she opened for Ron Gallo back in June 2015 at Minglwood. (Now taking the music scene by storm.)
It was an incredible night of music…wishing it would never end. Since then friends and I have gone all over the state to see her and her awesome band. Julie is one of the most powerful female vocalist that I have seen live and she is truly in the ranks with Janis Joplin, Etta James, and Bonnie Raitt to Joan Osborne, Beth Hart and more. Her songwriting is mixed with smoking, rocking, soulful, blues and some of the best life stories..relationships, society and some seduction,even.
Top favorite songs on her Album “Bound To Meet The Devil:
Sky Scraper Bles
Key Won’t Unlock My Door
Collector Man
In Your Garden
Hey Stranger
Grinnin in Your Face

I know a lot of you are frustrated from the ravages of Father Time and an eerie lack o’ wanna so, why not get hip to the latest and greatest in the phony cyber world of adult matchmaking services? Try new Carbondating® for adults. Just send in a sample of hair (if any), spittle, or toe jam and the wonderful failed German South American doctors at our cosmetic laboratory will have you fixed up in no time with a truly compatible specimen. Just like you! And if that doesn’t work, try this:
Our special Xmas show this Thursday features the clinically-proven Magi of Mayhem: Mr. Gordon “Sax” Beadle. With his own brand of fairy dust, Big G, catnip to your ears, will have you convulsing in the aisles,whilst you beg to donate to our Musician’s Retirement Plan©, and just basically turning the old bar into a steaming heap of writhing bodies.
http://www.saxgordon.com/
Adding to the sense of no redeeming social value will be everybody’s favorite drummmbler and vogellist: Mr. Edd Scheer. Mr. Pete Henderson,replete with chest wig ,handles Gootar duties. I’ll be the guy wearing big boots, wielding a chair and cracking a whip against all odds. Come celebrate!

Sing through the Seasons Welcome Yule! A Midwinter Celebration
Saturday at 4 PM – 6 PM
Details
“Welcome Yule! – A Midwinter Celebration” returns for a third year to the Gloucester Unitarian Universalist Meetinghouse.
The Welcome Yule Chorus, Children’s Troupe and Folk Orchestra, under the direction of Rose Sheehan, will present this lively, seasonal pageant on Saturday, December 10, 2016 at 4:00 PM in the sanctuary of Gloucester’s historic Unitarian Universalist Meetinghouse. The program is expected to run two hours including a fifteen minute intermission.
Yule is the name for the old, pre-Christian Winter Solstice festivals celebrated throughout northern Europe. ‘Welcome Yule!’ highlights symbols and festivities associated with those older festivals – wassailing, holly and ivy, yule logs, candles – and includes Christmas lore that blends the old customs with the newer festival.
This family friendly show is filled with music, dance, songs and stories for the longest night. It features a mix of traditional pieces, as well as contemporary works. A mummers’ play, ‘Saint George and the Dragon’ is a comic reworking of an English ritual drama in which a character dies and is brought back to life.
There will be a Yule Log Procession in which the audience is invited to touch the log with a holly leaf and make a wish for the new year.
A number of songs invite the audience to sing-a-long too, making it a participatory event.
Welcome Yule is produced by Folk Life Studio in cooperation with the Gloucester Unitarian Universalist Church.
Tickets are available at the door.
Ticket prices are
$15 for adults;
$10 for seniors (65+) and children five through sixteen;
$35 family cap;
age four and under free.

OLD SLOOP COFFEE HOUSE~ HTTP://WWW.ROCKPORTUCC.ORG/OLDSLOOPCOFFEEHOUSE.HTM
See James Keelaghan with Fozzie Hill at Old Sloop Coffeehouse this Friday, December 9th
James Keelaghan is a Canadian folk musician who Dave Marsh of Rolling Stone Magazine called “Canada’s finest singer-songwriter.” His lyrics often address social problems and justice in society. For example, “Kiri’s Piano” is about the internment of Japanese Canadians during WWII. Keelaghan’s lilting baritone voice, driving rhythm guitar, and a sense of scene and narrative allow him to bridge traditional folk music with roots revival and Celtic music.
Gloucester’s Fozzie Hill will open the concert, with David Brown on guitar and Wolf Ginandes on bass.
Tickets and more information at http://oldsloopcoffeehouse.org. Tickets also at Toad Hall Bookstore and The Bookstore of Gloucester.
